Hi, I'm Rachel
I've always believed that the best homes aren't the ones that look like they came straight out of a catalog—they're the ones that tell your story.
Curated+Functional was born from my passion for creating spaces that are beautiful, practical, and uniquely personal. I love helping people transform their homes into places that feel collected rather than copied, intentional rather than trendy, and functional without sacrificing style.
My design aesthetic is heavily influenced by Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian, Bohemian, Eclectic, Cottagecore, Cabincore, and Modern Traditional styles. More than any specific design category, though, I'm drawn to spaces that feel warm, inviting, and authentically you. I believe a home should support the way you actually live—not just look good for five minutes before real life happens.
I'm also a firm believer that organization isn't about perfection. It's about creating intuitive systems that work with your habits, save you time, reduce stress, and make everyday life easier. Because let's be honest—none of us want to spend our weekends searching for batteries, permission slips, or that one charging cable that somehow vanished overnight.
One of my favorite parts of the design process is sourcing unique pieces that add character and personality to a space. Whether it's a vintage find, an antique treasure, or a one-of-a-kind accent, I love creating homes that feel thoughtfully curated rather than furnished entirely from a big-box store or a late-night Amazon shopping spree.
By day, I work in corporate America, but design, organizing, and creating beautiful spaces have always been my passion. I'm currently building Curated+Functional with the goal of turning that passion into my full-time career. Because of my schedule, I primarily work with clients during evenings and weekends.
I'm based in Issaquah, Washington, and have spent years living throughout the Seattle area. I also own an A-Frame cabin in Cle Elum, which has only deepened my appreciation for cozy, functional spaces that blend beauty with everyday living.
When I'm not redesigning a room or reorganizing a closet, you'll usually find me reading a good book, camping, working on a craft project, spending time with my husband of 15 years, or hanging out with our French Bulldog, who firmly believes every home renovation should include more dog beds.
